Ross Buswell, who shoots under the name 'Atmospherics', is a lens-based artist, photographer and multidisciplinary creative director with over 30 years experience working professionally in the visual arts. With a keen eye for light and detail he aims to transport the viewer into the mood, atmosphere and silence of his compositions. A focus is placed on combining time-honoured technical processes with the power and flexibility of digital media to produce work that is uniquely original with a signature aesthetic while being widely accessible.

With a strong connection to the music industry over the years Ross’ iconic imagery has been featured on many album cover designs throughout a wide variety of musical genres with a leaning towards electronic and ambient music.

A Vancouver native born into the striking beauty of the Canadian west coast, Ross splits his time exploring and photographing areas of his home province while also regularly traveling globally to shoot, usually on solo trips. Favourite subjects are vast landscapes in far northern areas and powerful or unusual mountain scapes and how they react with the sky and universe.
